You can get it (and book 1) directly from me right here!
Supplies are limited. Thanks to the Caravan of Comics, I’m almost out of the first printing! I’ve just ordered a second printing of both books, and I’m not planning on doing a third.
Don’t forget: the new book of this strip is launching July 14 at Squishface Studio. Be there for improv theatre and bikkies.
“I call it ‘selective loyalty’!” — Bret Braddock
Ladies and gentlemen:
After 3 years and 100+ pages, my comic strip “Showman? The Bret Braddock Adventures” is coming to a (horrible) end. You are invited to witness this end.
Attendees at BRET BRADDOCK’S FINAL MEETING (July 14, from 6:15pm) will become part of a half-arsed theatrical spectacular which will BAMBOOZLE and BEMUSE. Those who experienced BRET BRADDOCK’S AWKWARD WORKPLACE FUNCTION at 2010’s Melbourne Fringe Festival will have some idea of what to expect.
I will not lie: you will be encouraged to buy the few remaining copies of Showman? books 1 & 2.
But you will also be transported to an incredible world of fantasy, in which it JUST MIGHT BE POSSIBLE to tell your stupid boss what a f&c%wit he is!
There will be recriminations!
There will be a PowerPoint presentation.
There will be Arnott’s Classic Assortment.
Bret Braddock’s Final Meeting
(aka: the launch of “Showman?” book 2)
will take place at
Squishface Comics Studio
309 Victoria St, Brunswick
on Saturday, July 14 at 6:15pm.
Party to follow.
How to get there:
TRAIN: Upfield line to Brunswick Station. TRAM No. 19, stop 23. BUS: 508/805.
The Bret Braddock Adventures, Book 2 is here!
It’s episodes 43 thru 99, in a lovely 64 pg bumper booky book.
If you’ve preordered, you’ll be receiving your copy this coming week!
If you want to read the horrifying ending before it goes online (sometime in July, I think), pick up a copy at Squishface Studio from Tuesday!
And if you’re attending this year’s MoCCA Fest (NYC) or TCAF (Toronto), pick yours up there directly from me!
You can now pre-order the upcoming book 2 of The Bret Braddock Adventures! And pick up book 1 as well, while you’re at it.
The whole story’ll be 100 pages or so, and you can get it sent to you for $15! Or just the new one, book 2, for $10.
I forgot to mention on here that I’m taking time out from posting The Bret Braddock Adventures weekly. The last 20 or so episodes will probably return in May.
The reason is that I’m on board the Caravan of Comics; a huge tour which will see about fifteen Aussie cartoonists and entourage travel around the north-eastern USA and Toronto.
I gotta get the Bret Braddock vol. 2 book finished before we leave, and the only way that’ll happen is if I power through the writing of all the remaining strips, then draw them. Normally I write and draw each strip each week, which is slower going.
So, again, thanks for reading the strip and look for the rest, online and in booky form, in a couple months! I might even do a preorder system via one of those crowdfunder sites if I get a spare minute to set it up.
In the meantime, you do know you can buy a paper or digital version of volume one, right? Aside from the money I get from this (which is minimal), I really appreciate that you bothered! As a consumer of modern media, I recognise that it’s the ones who take a moment to buy a comic or send an e-mail who actually give a fuck. And that it’s harder and harder to do that these days! So thanks tons.
Enjoy the initial 42 weekly episodes documenting Bret Braddock’s rise from fast-food franchiser to CEO of Docklands Entertainment, Pty Ltd.
You can get either a printed edition mailed to you, or an eBook in PDF format (you’ll be sent a link to download it).
“Showman? The Bret Braddock Adventures” Vol. 1 – Book: $4.87
“Showman? The Bret Braddock Adventures” Vol. 1 – eBook (PDF): $2.63
Will start putting new Bret Braddock episodes up in June. Here’s what forty episodes’ worth of plotting looks like:
When books are in stores, or for sale online, I’ll let you know.
We at Docklands Entertainment are putting together a collected edition of the Bret Braddock comic strips to date. The cover will look something like this.
We have found there’s some empty space on the back cover, and are therefore now soliciting for promotional blurbs from YOU.
Usually these are written by Stephen King and the like, but we’ll take a positive appraisal from anybody, famous or not.
We have room for about two short blurbs, so please send one you’ve written (or one you’ve somehow gotten Stephen King to write) to us at Docklands, via either Twitter to @nakedfella, e-mail or the comment section of this post.
If you’re unfamiliar with the strip, get reading. You may enjoy it.
Authors (or enablers) of blurbs we use will receive a copy of the collected edition (print/ebook) and a MYSTERY PRIZE (which will become less mysterious when I ask for your t-shirt size).
Tell him about your terrible workplace experiences.
